Ever leave a conversation and think, "Why did I say it like that?"
Expression Experiments
Wanting to Be Seen vs. Allowing Yourself to Be Seen
Where you can say the exact same thing and discover a completely different person while saying it.
For 90 minutes we're going to play with one sentence.
Not because the sentence matters.
Because you do.
Let's See Who Shows Up
What Is This?
The experiment is simple.
You'll say a sentence.
You'll say it again.
Somehow, it won't be the same sentence anymore.
Along the way, I'll point out things you may not notice on your own.
I'm always more curious about what's trying to happen than what you're trying to make happen.
Why This Matters
You've probably spent years trying to be yourself.
Turns out, that's a little tricky when you haven't met everybody yet.
Most of us have one version that handles the meetings, the family dinners, the hard conversations, the networking events, the grocery store checkout line, and the question, "What do you want?"
She's good at her job.
She also might not be the whole cast.
This isn't about fixing yourself or becoming someone new.
It's about noticing who's been getting all the speaking roles...and giving someone else a turn.
You won't leave with a new personality.
You'll leave with more access.
You'll start catching the moments where you shrink, edit, perform, apologize, disappear, or hand the mic to the same familiar part.
And once you notice those moments, it's hard to unnotice them.
You've been hanging out with the same version of yourself for years.
Maybe it's time to meet her friends.
What We'll Actually Do
We'll all work with the same statement.
Then we'll get curious.
You'll notice your body.
Your voice.
Your eyes.
Your energy.
Your posture.
The places where everything matches.
The places where it doesn't.
You'll try the same words from different parts of yourself and see what changes.
One volunteer will work live with me while everyone else experiments right alongside them.
You won't just be watching.
You'll be noticing yourself the entire time.
By the end, you may not have all the answers.
But you'll probably have a few new introductions.
